Advanced WiFi-Manager is a next-generation tool, it supports all features WiFi-Manager has but also can use NDIS to manage WiFi adapters and works in Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/Windows7 and has no dependencies on Service Packs or hotfixes installed!
For instance, you can use WPA in Windows XP only if you have installed Service Pack 2 and WPA2 only if you have downloaded and installed WPA2 hotfix, you can use WPA in Windows 2003 only if you have installed Service Pack 1 and WPA2 if you have installed Service Pack 2. Advanced WiFi-Manager works everywhere.
The following Windows versions are supported:

* Windows 2000
* Windows 2003
* Windows 2003 x64
* Windows XP
* Windows XP x64
* Windows Vista
* Windows Vista x64
* Windows 7
* Windows 7 x64

Advanced WiFi-Manager can use all ways that Windows has for WiFi networks management:

* Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) API.
* NativeWiFi API.
* Direct NDIS calls.

Advanced WiFi-Manager also supports direct communication with NativeWiFi adapter drivers, new type of wireless drivers introduced in Windows Vista.

When direct comminication with wireless card drivers is used, Advanced WiFi-Manager is able to perform the following tasks:

* Enumerate available WiFi adapters.
* Get information about WiFi adapters.
* Get information about available networks.
* Get information about current network.
* Connecting/disconnecting to networks, Open / WEP / WPA / WPA2 authentications are supported.
* Network profiles emulation.

Moreover, Advanced WiFi-Manager has own 802.1X supplicant that supports the following EAP methods:

* EAP-TLS
* PEAP-MSCHAPv2
* EAP-TTLS-MD5
* EAP-TTLS-MSCHAPv2
* EAP-MD5
* EAP-MSCHAPv2

Advanced WiFi-Manager allows developers to manage wireless networks in Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/Windows7 via one set of API, it does not require understanding how to use WZC API, NativeWiFi API or NDIS. For instance, if you want to connect to WPA network via NDIS calls then it's necessary to know quite a lot of details about WPA authentication, understand 802.11 and 802.1X IEEE standards, WPA negotiation steps, etc.
